Release the hydraulic system pressure.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove panel (1).

Cut the cable straps and disconnect harness assemblies (2). Disconnect hose assemblies (3).

Disconnect hose assemblies (4).

Remove clips (5).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to ripper valve (6). The weight of ripper valve (6) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). Remove bolts (7) and bolts (8). Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove ripper valve (6).

Remove plate (9) from ripper valve (6). Installation Procedure
Install ripper valve (6) in the reverse order of removal.
