There have been isolated incidents of the 217-5794 Lever separating at the rivet. The root cause was identified as excessive wear of the production tooling at the manufacturing facility. This can result in a loss of the governing of the engine. The engine can still be shut down by the usual procedure, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for this procedure.A maintenance procedure is now in place in order to prevent excessive wear of production tooling. No changes have been made to the design of the part, or the part number. Current parts should be used for repair. The current stock of parts is at the improved level of manufacturing.
