Field reports indicate that the cylinders with these new seals are sometimes noisy when being extended or retracted. The hydraulic cylinder noise is most noticeable on new machines or after older cylinders are rebuilt with new seals. This noise usually becomes more noticeable as the hydraulic oil heats up to operating temperature. This hydraulic cylinder noise is normal and causes no harm to the cylinders or the hydraulic system. The noise will gradually disappear over the first few hundred hours of machine operation. Noisy cylinders with the new seals should be allowed to run without disassembly until the noise can no longer be heard.
