Remove the track rollers. See the procedure in Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Roller - Remove" in this module.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Note: Removal of the plug and of stopper (2) causes damage to stopper (2) .
Remove the plug from stopper (2) with a hammer and with a punch.
Remove stopper (2) from the shaft.Note: A drill with slow speed and a 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) drill bit should be used.
Remove lock ring (3) and end collar (1) from both sides of the track roller.

Note: Mark the components of the Duo-Cone seals when you plan a reinstallation.
Remove Duo-Cone seal (4) from end collar (1) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (5) from roller (6) .
Repeat Step 5 on the opposite side of the track roller.

Use a hydraulic press and shaft (7) to remove the bushing on the opposite side of the track roller.

Rotate the track roller by 180 degrees. Repeat Step 7.

Remove O-ring seals (8) from roller shaft (7) .

Remove O-ring seal (9) from bushing (10) .
Remove Duo-Cone seal (11) from bushing (10) .
