Reference: Special Instruction, REHS0977, "Rework Extends Service Life of the Axle"This special instruction outlines the basic procedures that are used to rework the axle shafts. Material needs to be removed from the axle shafts, if a new axle housing is used. Material was added to the latest axle housing in order to protect the duo-cone seal kit.The rework procedures in this publication are applicable to any of the machines that are listed previously.
