Right Side of Machine
(1) Inverter
(2) Hazardous voltage indicatorsInverter (1) is located in the right compartment of the machine. The right side compartment door provides access to this component.Inverter (1) converts pulsed DC power from the generator into continuous DC power. The inverter delivers the continuous DC power to the screed heat system, and to the optional accessory power inverter as needed.Inverter (1) contains a power supply to provide the initial energy to excite the phase windings in the generator. After the initial energy is provided by the power supply, the inverter uses the DC bus to self-excite the generator. The hazardous voltage (HV) indicators (2) are on the right side of inverter (1). When the generator is enabled and the DC voltage bus is energized, the hazardous voltage indicators are illuminated. The indicators alert service personnel to a potential hazard. When the generator is commanded off, the energy stored in the HV system is discharged into the generator. The discharge takes less than one second. In this case, hazardous voltage indicators (2) are extinguished. If a fault occurs and the energy cannot be discharged into the generator, the energy will discharge through a resistor located in the inverter. Discharge through the resistor requires a period of several minutes. Whenever the voltage on the DC bus is greater than 50V, hazardous voltage indicators (2) remain illuminated. The inverter fan (not shown) is mounted on top of inverter (3). This fan provides cooling for the inverter. A relay in the power distribution module controls this fan.

Center of Screed
(3) Screed power moduleThe screed power module (SPM) (3) is located in the center section of the screed. The top walkways must be removed to access this component.Screed power module (3) distributes power from inverter (1) to the screed heaters. The SPM works with ECMs on the screed to communicate with the machine ECM.Note: For more information on the screed power module, refer to the appropriate screed documentation.

Rear of Tractor
(4) Accessory power inverter
(5) Electrical outlets
(6) AC OK indicator
(7) Fault indicatorOptional accessory power inverter (4), when installed, is on the rear of the tractor. This inverter panel receives DC power from inverter (1) and converts the power to alternating current for electrical lighting and tools.Several variants of accessory power inverters are available to provide either 120VAC or 240VAC as follows:
The North American (NA) inverter (shown) provides eight 120V outlets.
The United Kingdom (UK) inverter provides four 120V outlets.
The European Union (EU) inverter provides two 240V outlets.Accessory power inverter (4) has two indicator lights. The"AC OK" indicator (6) alerts the operator when the panel is ready to provide power to electrical tools and lighting. Fault indicator (7) alerts the operator to the presence of a fault on the accessory power inverter.
