1. Remove air cleaner support (1).2. Remove bolts (2) and the washers that hold the rocker shaft to the cylinder head. 3. Remove rocker shaft (3). Remove push rods (4).Install Rocker Shaft And Push Rods
1. Put the push rods in position in the cylinder head and on the valve lifters.2. Put the rocker shaft in position on the cylinder head. Make sure all the rocker arms are on their respective push rods.
Make sure the dowels on each end of the rocker shaft are in alignment with the holes in the cylinder head.

3304 TIGHTENING SEQUENCE TYPICAL EXAMPLE3. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize compound on the threads of the bolts for the rocker shaft. Install the bolts and the washers. Tighten the bolts with the following method: a) Tighten the bolts in number sequence to a torque of 115 lb.ft. (155 N m).b) Tighten the bolts in number sequence to 185 13 lb.ft. (250 17 N m).c) Tighten the bolts (hand torque only) in number sequence to a torque of 185 13 lb.ft. (250 17 N m).4. Make an adjustment to the rocker arms so the clearance for inlet valves will be .015 in. (0.38 mm) and the clearance for exhaust valves will be .025 in. (0.64 mm).5.
