Block the machine to prevent movement before releasing the brakes. The machine can roll free if it is not blocked.
When the parking brakes are released manually, the machine has no brakes.To avoid possible personal injury, the tires must be blocked securely before the parking brakes are manually released.
The parking brake is located in the rear drive line between the middle drive shaft and the rear drive shaft. The parking brake on the wheel skidder is spring applied and hydraulic released. Under normal conditions, the operator presses the parking brake switch on the keypad to release the parking brake. Hydraulic oil from the solenoid goes to the large piston on the parking brake.In the event of a dead engine, a grease gun can be used to manually release the parking brake. Release the Parking Brake
Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the parking brake is released.

Access the rear manifold (1) located in the right-hand rear frame.

Use a grease gun to add grease through EPB2 fitting (2).

Screw relief valve (3) all of the way in. Note: Relief valve must be screwed all of the way in. Screwing relief valve in allows grease gun to supply pressurized grease to the small piston releasing the parking brake.
The machine can now be towed. Note: Only apply grease to fitting (2) in order to release the parking brake manually. Reactivate the Parking Brake
Back the relief valve all of the way out. Note: Backing the relief valve all of the way out allows the parking brake to engage completely. If relief valve is not backed out all of the way, pressure may be trapped in the small piston. This trapped pressure will not allow the parking brake to engage completely for normal operating conditions. The machine can now be returned to normal operation.
