COUPLING GP-GENERATOR DRIVE 3841296 - Caterpillar

1. Remove five nuts (2) and bolts (3), washers (4) and remove sprocket segment (1) from the hub. There are a total of five sprocket segments per sprocket hub. The following steps are for installation of the sprocket segments.2. Make sure the surfaces of the sprocket segment and the hub that make contact are clean and free of paint.3. Put clean SAE 30W oil on the threads of the bolts.4. Put sprocket segment (1) in position on the hub, and install five bolts (3) with the head of the bolts against the sprocket segment. Install five nuts (2). For the D3C and D4C, tighten the bolts to a torque of 70 10 N m (50 7 lb ft), then tighten the bolts for an additional 120 degrees. For the D5C tighten the bolts to a torque of 175 40 N m (130 30 lb ft), then tighten the bolts for an additional 120 degrees.End By:a. connection of track
