Power Train Oil System (Transmission and Bevel Gear)
Change Oil, Filter and Breathers, Clean Screens and Magnets
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Drain Oil and Change Transmission Filter
1. Remove the transmission and bevel gear fill cap. 2. Remove the transmission drain plug and drain the oil. 3. Remove the bevel gear drain plug and drain the oil.4. Clean magnet on bevel gear drain plug.5. Install all of the drain plugs. 6. Remove the floor plate. Located under the floor plate.7. Remove the filter element.8. Clean the filter base.9. Apply a light coat of oil to the filter seal.10. Install filter.11. Use torque required to ensure shoulder of housing contacts bottom of base. Do not use an air wrench.Clean Transmission and Bevel Gear Screens

Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.Pressure air can cause personal injury.When using pressure air for cleaning, wear a protective face shield, protective clothing and protective shoes.The maximum air pressure must be below 205 kPa (30 psi) for cleaning purposes.Use all cleaning solutions with care.
Clean Transmission Screen and Magnet
1. Remove four bolts, cover, transmission screen and magnet.2. Wash the screen and magnet in clean, nonflammable solvent. Shake or blow the screen and magnet dry.3. Inspect the screen for damage. Replace the screen if it is damaged.4. Inspect the cover seal. Replace the cover seal if it is damaged.5. Install the screen, magnet and cover.Clean Bevel Gear Screen
1. Remove four bolts, flange, seal, plate and screen from the transmission suction line located on the front of the steering clutch case.2. Wash the screen in clean, nonflammable solvent. Shake or blow the screen dry.3. Inspect the screen for damage. Replace the screen if it is damaged.4. Inspect the seal. Replace the seal if it is damaged.5. Install the screen, plate, seal and flange.Change Transmission Breather
1. Remove the breather. Install a new breather.Change Bevel Gear Breather
1. Remove the breather. Install a new breather.Refill Transmission and Bevel Gear With Oil
1. Fill the transmission and bevel gear common sump with new oil. See "Refill Capacities."2. Install fill cap.3. Start the engine and allow oil to circulate. Run the engine at low idle, with the transmission in NEUTRAL. The parking brake must be applied.4. The oil level should be to the FULL mark on the dipstick. Add oil if necessary, to bring the oil level to the FULL mark on the dipstick.
