Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load can result in overheating and accelerated wear of engine components.Excessive temperatures in the turbocharger centerhousing will cause oil coking problems. Open the main circuit breaker in order to disengage the driven equipment.
Turn the engine control switch to the "OFF/RESET" position. The engine will immediately shut off.
Press the red "STOP" button on the EMCP4 controller. If the setpoint for the duration of the cooldown period is set to a value that is greater than zero, the following will occur. The engine will operate for a programmed time before the engine stops. Otherwise, the engine will immediately shut off.Automatic Stopping
Automatic stopping will occur when the engine is operating in the automatic mode and the remote start/stop initiate contact opens. If the cooldown feature is utilized, the engine will operate for a programmed time before the engine stops. Otherwise, the engine will immediately shut off.
