COUPLING 5392454 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the control valve, manifold and oil pump.2. Install a lifting eye at the top of the planetary housing and support the weight of the planetary section. This section weights approximately 1900 lb. (861,8 kg).3. Remove the bolts securing the planetary section to the upper and lower housings. Push the unit off using two 1/2"-13 forcing screws 8 in. (203,2 mm) long.

PLANETARY SECTION REMOVED4. Inspect the planetary gears and sun gear for wear or damage. Damaged planet gears can be removed through the hole in the center of the planetary gear carrier. It is not necessary to pull the output shaft and carrier from the housing unless damage to the carrier shaft, planetary carrier or output bearings is indicated.
