Range Switch
The following table provides general guidelines for setting the generator drop time value and the range switch. The range switch (Illustration 1) is located in the center of the electronic PC board to the right of the Electronic Control Module (ECM).

26-45 110-220 Amp OFF/RIGHT 11-16 Note: The initial settings are only suggestions. The actual settings may vary depending on the manufacturer of the magnet. The type of the magnet, the type of the material, and the consistency will change the setting. The dial setting is usually higher for larger magnets. The range switch should always be in the OFF /RIGHT position.Adjustment Procedure
If material remains attached to the magnet after the magnet drop button (2) is activated, the settings for the magnet controller may require adjustment. The button should be momentarily depressed and then released only once per each lift and drop cycle. Refer to Illustration 2 for the location of the magnet drop button on the left implement control lever. The adjustment for the drop and clean process is made by setting the Generator Drop Time value in the IQAN Master Controller and Monitor monitor. The generator drop time value is accessible via both the generator function group, in the Adjust menu, and Service Interval display. The value for generator drop time only displays with the generator enabled. The generator indicator LED on the magnet control button must be illuminated.Generator drop time values range from 1 -16, and are used to compensate for different size magnets. Typically smaller diameter magnets require a lower value and larger diameter magnets require a higher value. The various generator drop time values are also used to compensate for different materials and material densities. Typically fine texture, light materials require a lower value. Coarse texture, heavy materials require a higher value.Use the procedure that follows to set the correct generator drop time value for the magnet:
Set the generator drop time to the lowest setting. (See Generator Drop Time in the monitor section of this manual.)
Cycle the magnet through a minimum of three lift and drop cycles.
Do not cycle the same load of material when performing this procedure . The material will become magnetized from the repeated handling.
If the material does not completely release from the magnet, increase the generator drop time value by one and repeat Step 2.
Repeat Step 4 sequentially increasing the generator drop time value setting until the material completely releases.
