Information:

1. Remove floormat (1) from over the floor plate. 2. Remove the four bolts (2) and remove floor plate (3) from the platform.
The fire suppression agent cylinders can be activated by accident. Pins (4) and (5) must be installed in the levers of the fire suppression agent cylinders (that have not been activated) before any service work can be done in the area below the operator's station. Personal injury can be the result if the pins are not installed.
3. Open the access door over the fire suppression agent cylinders and install pins (4) and (5). 4. Remove bolt (6) that holds the hose clips in position.5. Remove the four bolts and guard (7) from over the alternator and air conditioner compressor vee belts. 6. Put identification on the electric wires as to their location on the alternator for correct installation. Disconnect wires (8), (9) and (11) from the alternator.7. Loosen the bolts that hold the alternator to the bracket. Loosen bolt (12) and nuts (13) on the adjustment and to loosen the tension on the vee belt. Remove vee belt (10) from the alternator pulley. 8. Remove the bolts that hold the alternator to the bracket. Remove bolt (12) and remove alternator (14) from the machine.Install Alternator
Make sure the nut that holds the alternator pulley is tightened to the correct torque. See SPECIFICATIONS section for the correct torque. 1. Put alternator (1) in position on the bracket and install the bolts and washers to hold it to the bracket and adjustment rod (2). 2. Put vee belt (3) in position on the drive and alternator pulleys. Make an adjustment of the belt tension with a belt tension gauge such as Borroughs Tool Company Part No. BT-33-72C or an equivalent. Tighten new belts until the gauge indication is 120 5. Operate the engine at high idle for a minimum of 30 minutes after Step 3. Make another adjustment of the belt tension. The correct gauge indication for used belts is 90 10. If the machine is operated to make a new alternator belt used, the pins installed in the fire suppression agent cylinders must be removed. 3. Connect electric wires (4), (5) and (6) to their correct locations on the alternator. 4. Install guard (7) over the alternator and air conditioner compressor vee belts.5. Install the bolt to hold hose clips (8) to guard (7). 6. Put floor plate (9) in position on the platform and install the bolts to hold it. 7. Install floormat (10) over the floor plate and platform.8. Remove the pins from the fire suppression agent cylinders.
