The alignment can be visually checked by bolting the drive shaft(Item 2) to the coupling as. with bolts (Item 3). Then check the alignmentof one bolt-hole in the drive shaft universal joint yoke to the correspondingbolt-hole in the transmission universal joint yoke (Item 1). The bolt-holecenters should be within an axial distance of 6 mm (0.24 in). Adjust thealignment by loosening the engine mounts or transmission mounts, if necessary.In some cases, you may need to use fabricated shims to shim the frame mountingsurface for alignment of the drivelineto the correct axial alignment specification.
