View From Under The Machine2. Disconnect hose (2) and the hose from fitting (5).3. Remove the bolts that hold tube assembly (1) to the steering pump. Move the tube assembly away from the steering pump. Use two persons to remove the steering pump. The weight of the steering pump is 35 kg (77 lb.).4. Remove bolts (4) and steering pump (3) from the pump drive. Remove the O-ring seal from the steering pump. The following steps are for installation of the steering pump.5. Put the O-ring seal in position on steering pump (3). Use two persons, and put the steering pump in position on the pump drive. Install two bolts (4).6. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position in tube assembly (1). Connect the tube assembly to the steering pump.7. Connect hose (2) and the hose to fitting (5).8. Fill the steering hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.Disassemble Steering Pump
Start By:a. remove steering pump 1. Fasten the steering pump to tooling (A).2. Remove four bolts (1) and compensator (2) from plate assembly (3).3. Disassemble compensator (2) as follows:a. Remove plug (5) and spool (6) from body (11). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug.b. Remove plug (10). Remove O-ring seal (13) from the plug.c. Remove cap (12), washers (9), spring (8) and cap (7) from body (11).4. Remove bolts (4), plate assembly (3) and the gasket from the pump. 5. Remove piston (15) from the plate assembly.6. If necessary, remove dowel (14) and bearing (16) from the plate assembly. 7. Remove rotator assembly (17) from the pump. 8. Put identification marks on pistons (18) for correct installation during assembly.9. Remove nine pistons (18), spider (20) and pivot (19) from the rotator assembly.
Ring (23) holds a spring under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when removing ring (23).
10. Use a press and tooling (B) to compress spring (21).11. Remove snap ring (23) with tool (C).12. Carefully release the tension on spring (21). Remove the spring and washers (22) from the rotator assembly. 13. Remove pin keeper (25) and three pins (24) from the rotator assembly. 14. Use tool (C) to remove snap ring (26) from the front of the pump. 15. Use a soft hammer to remove shaft (27) from the housing. Remove seal (28) and washer (29) from the shaft. 16. Use tool (D) to remove snap rings (32) and (34) from shaft (27).17. Remove race (31), bearing (33) and race (30) from the shaft. 18. Use tool (C) to remove snap ring (36) from each side of the housing.19. Remove covers (35) from each side of the housing. 20. Remove O-ring seal (39), races (38) and bearing (37) from each side of the housing. 21. Remove swashplate (40) from the housing. 22. Remove collar (41) and spring (42) from the housing.23. If necessary, remove bearing (43) from the housing.Assemble Steering Pump
1. Clean and inspect all parts of the steering pump. Replace all parts that are worn or damaged.
