The weld between auger shaft adapter (A) and auger flight shaft (B) may fail and break on augers listed above. This issue may be due to poor manual welds from the supplier and result in separation of hex shaft from the socket.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem and recommends following the below interim repair action.In the event of failure, replace the auger shaft adapter with the same part as listed in Table 1.
