Apply lubricant to the fittings with a hand operated grease gun only. Use of pressure operated lubricating equipment damages the seals.

Lubricate the equalizer bar center pin through the remote fitting. The remote fitting is located on the frame on the left side of the machine. The fitting is located below the dipstick.

There are two additional end fittings that are located at each end of the equalizer bar. Clean the areas that are around the end pin with a high pressure wash. Inspect the condition of the seals.Check the area for oil leakage. Be sure that the seal is in a neutral position. Check the oil level. Remove the plug in order to access the grease zerk. Add Caterpillar Gear Oil to the joint through the grease zerk until the air is vented through the passages. When oil is visible in the bottom of the counterbore under plug, the joint is fully lubricated.When you operate the machine in arctic conditions, lubricate the equalizer bar with EMGARD EP 75W90 gear lubricant. EMGARD EP 75W90 gear lubricant is a synthetic lubricant. This lubricant is available from Hudson Corporation.
