Illustration 1 g06023377The hose assemblies (A) in the improved 269-7271 Connecting Lines Gp may experience oil leak on the hydraulic hammers listed above. The failure may be due to crack in the 397-4049 Stem of 270-0290 Coupling As or 397-1939 Permanent Coupling As in the hose assemblies.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the following interim corrective action.In the event of failure, install a high-pressure accumulator to the hammer to dampen vibration and pressure spikes.Machine top cover of hydraulic hammer to add high-pressure accumulator charging ports. Replace 313-4421 Seal with 152-2552 Diaphragm.After installing high-pressure accumulator with 269-7271 Connecting Lines Gp, refer to Testing and Adjusting, RENR4478, "Hydraulic Accumulator (High Pressure) - Test and Charge" for proper charging the accumulators.
