Apply Tooling (G) to the surface of thrust disc (9). Install thrust disc (9) .

Install sleeve (8) and sun gear (7). Apply Tooling (K) to the threads of bolt (6). Install bolt (6). Tighten bolt (6) to a torque of 310 N m (229 lb ft).

Use Tooling (L) and measure the distance from carrier (18) to the bottom of the bore of carrier (18A). Subtract the thickness of the straight edge. Record this measurement as Measurement (A) .

Use Tooling (L) and measure the distance from carrier (18) to the surface of the bolt flange. Subtract the thickness of the straight edge. Record this measurement as Measurement (B) .
Use the following formula in order to find Dimension (C) : Measurement A - Measurement B = Measurement C.

Use Tooling (L) and measure the distance from the face of sun gear (7) to the surface of the bolt flange. Subtract the thickness of the straight edge. Record this measurement as Measurement (D) .
Use the following formula in order to find Measurement (E) : Measurement C + Measurement D = Measurement E.

Use Tooling (M) and measure the thickness of disc (17). Record this measurement as Measurement (F) .
Machine thrust disc (17). Thrust disc (17) must be machined in order to achieve a measurement of 0.30 mm to 0.70 mm (0.012 inch to 0.028 inch) less than Measurement (E) .

Apply Tooling (G) to thrust disc (17). Install thrust disc (17) into carrier (18) .

Note: Check the O-ring seal for wear or for damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seal.
Install O-ring seal (5) onto final drive (4). Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device onto final drive (4). The weight of final drive (4) is approximately 52 kg (115 lb).

Install final drive (4). Install Tooling (A). Remove Tooling (C) and push final drive (4) in all the way. Remove Tooling (A) .

Install bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 200 N m (148 lb ft). Install plug (2) .
