At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the filler cap on the radiator. Drain the coolant from the radiator.2. Open the right side engine panel. Remove the access panel below the right side engine panel.
To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all the pressure in the air system has been released before any air lines are disconnected.
3. Release the air pressure from the system. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance manual for further information.4. Put identification marks on seven hoses and tube assemblies connected to air compressor (1). Disconnect the hoses and tube assemblies from air compressor (1).5. Remove four bolts (2) and air compressor (1). The weight of the air compressor is 21 kg (47 lb).6. Install the air compressor in the reverse order of removal.7. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
