PROBLEM
The existing flow limiter valve end plug may have insufficient tightening on certain 305.5E and 306E Mini-Excavators. If the existing end plug fails, it can cause a leak on the flow limiter valve.

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
1. Park machine on level ground with the implements lowered.
2. Release the system pressure. Refer to KENR9860, Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release", for additional information.
3. Turn off the engine and battery isolator switch.

4. Loosen hoses (1) and (2) and orient it away in order to access the flow limiter valve (3) and (4) as shown.

5. Use a 5/16 inch Allen drive to unbolt end plug (5) for flow limiter valve (3) and (4) and check the O-ring (6) condition. Replace if damaged.
6. Assemble and tighten end plug (5) to a specified torque of 73.2 N.m (54 ft lbs).
7. Using a 1 inch box socket, re-check by tightening flow limiter valve (3) and (4) to a specified torque of 115.2 N.m (85 ft lbs).
Refer to Image1.3.1.
8. Tighten hoses (1) and (2).
9. Test run machine and check for leaks.
