Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

During normal operation, the threads of the valve will adhere to the threads in cylinder head (2). Immediately after the engine is shut down, apply penetrating oil on the joint between the valve and the cylinder head. Tighten valve (1) for a few degrees in order to free the threads. Then turn the valve to the right and to the left. Increase the turns to the left and keep applying penetrating oil, until the valve comes out of the cylinder head. Perform this procedure for all of the valves that will be removed.
Plug the hole for valve (1) in cylinder head (2) .
Remove cap (3) from the valve. Inspect the valve for cleanliness and good condition.Installation Procedure

Make sure that the threads in cylinder head (2) are clean and free of burrs. Use Tooling (A) to clean the threads.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads in cylinder head (2) .
Install valve (1) into cylinder head (2) according to the following procedure:
Tighten the valve to a torque that is between 45 to 100 N m (33 to 75 lb ft).
Ensure that cap (4) is in a position that is between 8 and 1 o'clock when the valve is viewed from the side of the engine. The desired position is at 12 o'clock.Note: If the recommended position cannot be obtained within the recommended torque, obtain a different valve. Repeat this procedure until the installation is correct.
Install cap (3). Tighten the cap to a torque of 17 3 N m (13 2 lb ft).
