Problem 1: Pump motor does not run. Cause:Voltage supply interrupted.Solution:a. Check voltage supply or fuses.b. Check line leading from the fuses to the pump plug and to the timer. Cause:Circuit board defectiveSolution:a. Replace printed circuit board. Cause:Electric motor defective.Solution:a. Check voltage supply to motor, replace if needed. Problem 2: Pump does not deliver lubricant. Cause:Reservoir empty.Solution:a. Refill reservoir with clean lubricant. Cause:Air pockets in lubricantSolution:a. Bleed air at outlet fitting on pump element. Cause:Pump suction hole clogged.Solution:a. Remove pump element, check suction hole for foreign particles. Cause:Pump piston worn.Solution:a. Replace pump element. Cause:Check valve in pump element defective or clogged.Solution:a. Replace pump element. Problem 3: Blockage of downstream progressive system. Cause:Bearings, lines or metering devices clogged (lubricant leaking from relief valve).Solution:Clean or replace if needed. If disassembling metering device for cleaning purposes, do not interchange pistons when reassembling.
Metering device (typical outlet numbering pattern)Testing:a. Allowing pump to run, loosen all main line connections from main metering device leading to secondary metering devices. If lubricant exits from outlet 1 of the main metering device than the blockage will found in the lubrication circuit of the secondary metering devices. In the case of a blocked metering deviceSolution:Clean or replace metering device.Testing procedure for blockage:b. With pump running, disconnect all feed lines from secondary metering devices one after another. If lubricant exits under pressure from outlet 3 of the metering device, then the blockage will be found in the distribution line of outlet 3.c. Replace relief valve. When checking individual outlets, keep outlet loosened for quite a while because for each motor revolution there is only one piston stroke. A complete cycle of all the metering devices requires several strokes.
