Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. The precision components of the pump or of the motor can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. All disassembly procedures must be performed on a clean work surface. Clean all the interior components in clean solvent. Dry all the interior components with compressed air. Keep cleaned parts covered and protected at all times.Note: Step 1 refers to the disassembly of the left side parking brake.

Remove wire assembly (2) from parking brake (1). Note: Step 2 refers to the disassembly of the right side parking brake.

Remove elbow (4) from parking brake (3). Note: Perform Step 3 through Step 12 for both the right side parking brake and the left side parking brake.
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

Use a suitable press to hold the brake together. Remove two bolts (5).

Slowly release the press in order to separate housing (6) from housing (7).

Remove gasket (8) and plates (9) from housing (7).

Remove ring (10).

Remove discs (11) and plates (12).

Remove O-ring seal (20), backup ring (19), O-ring seal (22), and backup ring (21) from piston (18). Take note of the orientation of the backup rings and of the O-ring seals for installation purposes.
