Refer to the following procedure to properly replace the space heater when necessary.
Lock out all electrical and mechanical sources of energy. Ensure that the voltage source for the space heater is locked out. Use a voltage meter to verify that no voltage present.

Access plate locations
(1) Space heater access plate
(2) Space heater terminal box access plate (larger units)
Locate the access plate for the space heater.Note: On larger units, the space heater will be located behind the plate where the space heater terminal box is mounted.

Removing the access plate
Remove the four bolts that attach the plate to the frame.

Heater attached to plate
Remove the plate carefully. There is a bracket on the rear of the plate that extends into the motor frame. The heater is attached to the inside of the plate.
Disconnect the wiring between the space heater and the terminal box.

Removing the space heaters from bracket
Remove the space heater from the bracket. Use an Allen wrench or hex key to loosen the bolts.Note: The space heater is located on a bracket attached to the back of the plate.
Install the new space heater onto the bracket.
Reconnect all wiring to the new space heater.Note: Keep in mind the routing of the wires. Do not to strain or pinch any wires.
Insert the space heater back inside the motor frame. Ensure that no wires are pinched while installing the plate.
Reinstall and tighten the securing bolts to mount the plate to the frame.
