Use the suitable lifting device to remove differential and bevel gear (30) from carrier (31). The combined weight of differential and bevel gear (30) is approximately 365 kg (800 lb).Note: Steps 29 through 39 are for the disassembly of the differential.

Position differential and bevel gear (30) on suitable cribbing.
Remove bolts (32).

Attach a suitable lifting device to differential (33). Carefully remove differential (33) from bevel gear (34). The weight of differential (33) is approximately 270 kg (590 lb). The weight of bevel gear (34) is approximately 86 kg (190 lb).

Use Tooling (E) to remove bearing cone (35) from differential (33).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Turn the differential onto the opposite end.
Put alignment marks across differential cases (37) and (38).
Remove bolts (36).

Attach a suitable lifting device to differential case (37). Carefully remove differential case (37) from differential case (38). The weight of differential case (37) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb).
