Modify the Machine Configuration File
Perform the following steps to enter the type of sensor expected by the mach_cfg.txt file:
Open the Machine Configuration Utility (MCU).
Select the machine name in the left-hand pane. The list of features appears.
Select "Machine".
Select "Sensors". The relevant Use <sensor name> Sensor settings appear in the right-hand pane.
For pitch, select the sensor type in the "Use Pitch Sensor" > "Type" setting.
For roll, select the sensor type in the "Use Roll Sensor" > "Type" setting
For inclination on a dual antenna machine, the "Use AS7 Sensor" setting appears. This setting lets "CAESultra" instruct a programmable sensor to behave as either an AS7 sensor or an AS4xx sensor.
Disable "Use AS7 Sensor" if the sensor is an AS4xx sensor.
Enable "Use AS7 Sensor" if the sensor is an AS7 or AS21 sensor.
After configuring the MCU Sensor feature, enter the following:CAN Sensor Port =1 - This setting enables the CAN port to function on the display.Calibration File =mach_cfg.txt - This setting indicates that the "Roll Sensor Offset" value is in the mach_cfg.txt file.
Select "File".
Select "Send to MineStar".
Restart CAESultra. After configuring the MCU Sensor feature, enter the following:$ Roll Sensor Offset =0.0 - This calibration.txt file setting is used to enter a calibration value for the "Roll" value from the sensor. The "Roll Sensor Offset" must be determined by manual calibration. The value of the angle sensor is obtained from the sensor diagnostics. The "Roll Sensor Offset" is the value that must be applied to zero the value of the sensor. Multiple readings must be obtained and the results must be averaged to obtain an accurate offset.Select the Location of the Sensor
Within "CAESultra", select "Menu".
Select "Calibration".
Illustration 9 g02289773
Select "Sensors". The "Change Sensor Type" dialog appears. Note: The "Current Sensor" field shows the current configuration of the sensor. The sensor is either an AS7 sensor or an AS4xx sensor.
Touch the appropriate radio button in the "New type" box.
When the correct selection is shown, touch the "Change" button. The "Inform" dialog appears. This dialog advises whether the change was successful.
Touch "OK". The "Inform" dialog closes and the "Change Sensor Type" dialog appears again.
Confirm that the "Current Sensor:" field shows the new sensor type correctly
Confirm that the location on the machine is correct.
Confirm the "Raw" value updates in the adjacent field.
Touch "Done". The "Change Sensor Type" dialog closes.
Check the "Sensor Diagnostics" to confirm that the programmed sensor values are coded for the correct part of the machine.Calibration
Note: The calibration in this section assumes that all of the hardware for the system has been installed.A CAESultra system that utilizes a 312-0755 Angle Sensor to measure pitch and roll requires a simple calibration procedure. The completed calibration provides the offset angle of the sensor. The calibration is used to calibrate any mechanical offsets in the output of the sensor during installation. Perform the following procedure to ensure that accurate information is provided to the CAESultra system:
Ensure that the following entry is in the mach_cfg.txt file. The entry must be activated.$ Roll Sensor Offset =0.0
