start by: a) remove undercarriage 1. Remove strips (1), (2) and (3) from the cover. 2. Make a mark on the undercarriage at the location of dowel hole (4) so the swing gear and bearing can be installed in the same position. Remove the cover. 3. Remove bolts (5) that hold the swing gear and bearing to the undercarriage.4. Install tools (A) on the swing gear and bearing with 9/16" bolts eight inches long, nuts and flat washers. 5. Fasten a hoist and remove swing gear and bearing (6). Weight is 2200 lb. (998 kg).6. Remove pan (7) from the undercarriage. Weight is 100 lb. (45.4 kg).Install Swing Gear And Bearing
1. Clean the old liquid gasket material from the contact surfaces of the pan and undercarriage. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket on the surfaces. 2. Install pan (1) on the undercarriage. Put the holes in the pan in alignment with the holes in the undercarriage.3. Inspect seal (2) on the pan and install a new seal as needed. If a replacement of the seal is made, use 5H2471 Contact Cement to hold it in place. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the surfaces of the seal that make contact with the cover. 4. Install tools (A) on the swing gear and bearing with 9/16" bolts eight inches long, nuts and flat washers.5. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the bolt threads and washer faces of the bolts that hold the swing gear and bearing to the undercarriage and upper frame.6. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket on the contact surfaces of the pan and swing gear.7. Put bolts (5) in the swing bearing and use a piece of wire (4) to hold the bolts in place.8. Fasten a hoist and put the swing gear and bearing in position on the undercarriage. Be sure the dowel hole (3) in the swing bearing is in alignment with the mark that was put on the undercarriage.9. Install the bolts that hold the swing gear to the undercarriage. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 825 100 lb.ft. (1118.6 135.6 N m).10. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the teeth of the swing gear and on the pan as shown. 11. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket on the contact surfaces of the swing bearing and cover (6).12. Put cover (6) in position on the swing bearing with the dowel hole in the cover in alignment with the dowel hole in the swing bearing.
