Removal Procedure

Remove two rubber plugs (1) from door handle (2). Two screws (3) are located under the two rubber plugs. Remove the two screws in order to remove the door handle.

Remove eight screws (4) and the washers in order to remove door panel (5) from the door.

Remove four bolts (6) in order to remove door latch (7) from the door.

Remove four bolts (8) and two clamps (9) in order to remove door handle (10) from the door. The door handle is removed from the outside of the door. Installation Procedure
Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Position door handle (10) to the door. Install two brackets (9) and four bolts (8) in order to secure the door handle.

Position door latch (7) to the door. Install four bolts in order to secure the door latch to the door.

Position door panel (5) to the door. Install eight screws (4) and the washers in order to secure the door panel to the door.

Position door handle (2) to the door and install two screws (3) in order to secure the door handle. Install two rubber plugs (1) into the door handle.
Use the following procedure in order to adjust the cab door:

Close the cab door and locate striker assembly (12) so that the striker assembly is centered vertically in latch jaws (14). Ensure that striker assembly (12) and latch jaws (14) engage smoothly. Ensure that the cab door is not misaligned.
Check for interference between striker assembly (12) and latch jaws (14).
Adjust the position of striker assembly (12) by removing shims (11) or by adding shims (11).
Check the primary latch position and the secondary latch position. In the primary latch position, the cab door is fully closed and the latch jaws are fully closed. In the secondary latch position, the cab door is not fully closed and the latch jaws are not in the primary latch position.
The primary latch position may not be achieved, due to a high seal pressure or the position of striker assembly (12). Loosen nut (13) on the striker assembly and adjust the position of the striker assembly until the primary latch position is achieved. Tighten nut (13) to the correct torque. Note: It may be necessary to adjust the hinge in order to achieve the primary latch position. It may be necessary to adjust the hinge in order to achieve the correct pressure on the door seal.
Check that the cab door is fully closed against the door seal. Check that the latch jaws are in the primary latch position and that the latch jaws are not in the secondary latch position.
