Description of Change: The trunnion material on the new clamp is more resistant to the high exhaust temperatures than the material of the previously used clamp. The new bolt for the clamp is also more resistant to high temperatures than the previously used bolt.Adaptable To:

The new parts and the former parts are identified in Illustration 1 and Table 1.The new parts are adaptable to the engines in the above listed Generator Sets back to first production.The new parts are effective with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 2.

Before engine start-up, the static inspection torque for the bolt is 25 6 N m (18 4 lb ft)Use the following procedure to install the clamp.
Visually inspect the joint for the manifold and the bellows for proper seating and for alignment.
Lubricate the bolt threads with Loctite Nickel Anti Seize.
Tighten the bolt to 25 6 N m (18 4 lb ft).
Lightly tap around the clamp with a soft-faced hammer.
Tighten the bolt again to 25 6 N m (18 4 lb ft).
