Ejector Body
The tailgate may move suddenly and without warning, resulting in personal injury or death.When it is necessary to work under the tailgate with the tailgate raised, install the tailgate retaining pins through the pin bores in the tailgate and body.

Pull rod (1) and remove retaining pin (2) from the stored position.
Repeat Step 1 for the other retaining pin.

Fully retract the ejector plate and raise the tailgate until the pin bore on the body aligns with the pin bore on the tailgate.
Place retaining pin (2) in position as shown.
Repeat Step 4 for the other retaining pin.Note: The following steps are for the removal of the retaining pin.
Raise the tailgate to release any tension.
Remove retaining pin (2).
Repeat Step 7 for the other retaining pin.
Pull rod (1) and replace retaining pin (2) in the stored position. Release rod (1) to hold the retaining pin in the stored position.
Repeat Step 9 for the other retaining pin.
