Illustration 1 g01201989Note: This procedure will determine the length of rod (2) that is needed to obtain dimension (B). Selection of the correct rod is necessary for proper pump operation.
Install swashplate (1) in the cradle bearings that are located in the pump housing.
Position swashplate (1) at dimension (A). Measure dimension (A) from swashplate (1) to the centerline of shaft (4).
Place rod (2) and piston (3) in the position that is shown. Note: Use only one rod during the procedure.
Hold rod (2) and piston (3) at 90 degrees to swashplate (1).
Measure dimension (B). Dimension (B) is measured from the housing face to the centerline of the crosshole that is located in piston (3).
Refer to the Fan Drive Hydraulic System Specifications, "Piston Pump (Fan Drive)" for the correct value for dimension (B) and for the correct rod to use.
