1. Clean all parts and coat all bearings with 30W oil.2. Make sure all parts, including hub (6), are installed correctly.3. Install retainer plate (7) without shims (8), using three bolts (9) evenly spaced.4. Turn sprocket hub (6) by hand while tightening three bolts (9) to a torque of 38 1 N m (337 9 lb in).5. Separately loosen bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) until contact (touches) with retainer plate (7) is made.6. Tighten three bolts (9) to a torque of 12 2 N m (108 18 lb in).7. Measure gap (A) between retainer plate (7) and spindle (11) at two locations as close to bolts (9) as possible.8. Select a thickness of shims (8) equal to the average gap (A) +0.00 -0.10 mm (+.000 - .004 in).9. Install shims (8), retainer plate (7) and 12 bolts (9).10. Tighten bolts (9) to a first torque of 10 1 N m (90 9 lb in).11. Make sure bolts (9) are correctly tightened to the first torque. Tighten bolts (9) to a second torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft).12. Make sure bolts (9) are correctly tightened to the second torque. Tightened bolts (9) to a final torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb ft). Replace bolts (9) each time the final drive is disassembled.
