ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the sleeve bearings using the appropriate Disassembly and Assembly Instructions.
- For serial prefixes A4W, ADZ, AMP, and AZX machines, use SENR5894, Disassembly and Assembly.
- For serial prefixes 221, 880, H4C, and H8M machines, use RENR8912, Disassembly and Assembly.
- For serial prefixes H9K and ZMX machines, use KENR7587, Disassembly and Assembly.
In order to determine if the sleeve bearings need to be replaced, please perform the following inspection.
If trunnion support oscillation sleeve bearings exhibit excessive looseness and/or make noise during machine directional shifts, or if excessive grease leakage is present at 6 o'clock position, measure sleeve bearing diametral clearance as follows:
While still installed on machine, measure the clearance or "gap" at the 6 o'clock position (using shims) between front trunnion support sleeve bearing ID and pinion housing OD. This measurement will require removal of the front trunnion support seal retainer and wiper seal.
If the measured gap is greater than 2mm, replace both the front and rear trunnion support sleeve bearings.
