SAFETY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING ADAPTER FITTING ON CERTAIN SOIL COMPACTORS, ASPHALT PAVERS, AND PNEUMATIC ROLLERS
MODELS INVOLVED - CP56B, CS56B, CS66B, CS74B, CS78B, AP600F, AP655F, AP1000F, AP1055F, and CW14

The adapter fitting needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing adapter fitting can fail and may, in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, result in a risk of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated.

Rework Procedure
Group Number 1
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface. Move propel lever to the NEUTRAL position. Move parking brake switch to the ON position. Turn the engine off.
Remove locking pin. Raise support bar. Lock the support bar in position with the locking pin. Remove bolts with washers and right side cover (8) .
Remove the four dust caps from each Quick Disconnect Coupler.
Use a 24mm open end angled wrench in order to prevent the "T" adapter from rotating if the machine is equipped with the Machine Drive Power attachment.
Using an 11/16" wrench replace each Quick Disconnect Coupler and tighten to 55Nm taking care not to loosen the "T" adapter.
The quick disconnect couplers that were removed will not be reused.
Operate the machine and check for leaks.
Install the dust caps over each Quick Disconnect fitting.
Install side cover with bolts and washers (9).
Remove locking pin. Lower support bar. Lock the support bar in position with the locking pin. Close the engine compartment.

Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface. Move propel lever to the NEUTRAL position. Move parking brake switch to the ON position. Turn the engine off.
Open the Right Hand access door. Remove the 4 dust covers indicated
Replace the 4 test ports indicated (187-3547) with new adaptors. These adaptors are connected to the M1 and M2 ports of the propel pumps. Tighten the replacement adaptor to a torque of 55 Nms. Use backup wrenches on existing fittings as required.
Replace the dust caps.
Start the machine and check for leaks.
