Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank for the implement and the hydraulic fan into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, Hydraulic System Oil (Implement) (Hydraulic Fan) - Change for the correct draining procedure.

Remove bolts (1), bearing cap (2), and the shims. Note the quantity and the location of the shims for assembly purposes.

Start the engine. Retract the lift cylinder.
Stop the engine.
Secure the cylinder rod in the UP position to prevent the cylinder rod from extending when the hydraulic hoses are disconnected, as shown.
Release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

Disconnect hose assemblies (3).
Disconnect harness connectors (4).
Remove clamps (5) and clip (6).

Attach a suitable lifting device to lift cylinder (7). The weight of lift cylinder (7) is approximately 260 kg (573 lb).
Remove bolts (8).

Remove bearing caps (9) from both sides of lift cylinder (7).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove bearing (10) from bearing cap (9). Repeat this Step for the other bearing cap.Disassembly and Assembly Information

Install lift cylinder (7) in the reverse order of removal.
Fill oil to the hydraulic tank for the implement and the hydraulic fan. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, Hydraulic System Oil (Implement) (Hydraulic Fan) - Change for the correct filling procedure.
