2. Remove wiring harness (1). Remove bolts (3) that hold breather tube (2) and remove the tube. Remove the bolt that holds the bracket for the front hood plate to the front of the head.3. Remove the two bolts that hold the water pump to the front of the cylinder head. 4. Disconnect line (5) for water temperature.5. Remove tube (8) for water inlet from the head and the air compressor. Remove tube (9) for air inlet from the head and the air compressor.6. Loosen hose clamps (4) at each end of tube (7). Remove the bolt that holds the tube to the fuel tank. Remove tube (7).7. Remove bolts (6) and the washers that hold the cylinder head to the cylinder block.8. Fasten a hoist to the lifting eyes on the head. Remove cylinder head (10). Weight of the 3306 cylinder head is 230 lb. (104 kg). Weight of 3304 cylinder head is 200 lb. (90 kg).9. Remove the gasket from the cylinder block.Install Cylinder Head
1. Clean the surfaces of the cylinder head and the cylinder block that make contact with each other. Install a new gasket on the cylinder block. 2. Fasten a hoist to cylinder head (1). Put the head in position on the block. Install the push rods. Put the rocker shaft in position on the cylinder head. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the cylinder head and rocker shaft bolts. Install the bolts and washers and tighten the bolts as follows:

3304 TIGHTENING SEQUENCEa) Tighten all bolts in number sequence to a torque of 115 lb.ft. (155 N m).b) Tighten all bolts in number sequence to a torque of 185 13 lb.ft. (250 17 N m).c) Tighten all bolts in number sequence (hand turn only) to a torque of 185 13 lb.ft. (250 17 N m).d) Tighten all bolts in letter sequence to a torque of 22 lb.ft. (28 N m).e) Tighten all bolts in letter sequence to a torque of 32 5 lb.ft. (43 7 N m).f) Tighten all bolts in letter sequence to a torque of 32 5 lb.ft. (43 7 N m). 3. Make adjustments until the intake valve clearance is .015 in. (0.38 mm) and the exhaust valve clearance is .025 in. (0.64 mm). See ENGINE VALVE LASH as shown in LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.4. Put the tube in position between the radiator and the water temperature regulator. Install the hoses and the clamps on each end. Install the bolt that holds the tube to the fuel tank.5. Install the tubes for water inlet and air inlet to the head and the air compressor. Install the two bolts that hold the water pump to the head.6. Connect the line for water temperature. Install the bolt that holds the bracket for the front hood plate to the cylinder head. Install the breather tube and the bolts that hold it.7. Install the glow plug wiring harness. Fill the cooling system
