1. Connect the steering frame lock link. See the topic, "Separate & Connect Steering Frame Lock Link" in this module.2. Put parking brake in the "ON" position.3. Block the front and rear tires. 4. Remove one bolt (1) and the washer from both sides of the rear bumper to provide a flat surface for positioning Tooling (A).5. Position Tooling (A) on level ground at rear of bumper, as shown. Provide enough lifting force to secure Tooling (A) under bumper. Secure Tooling (A) with the lock ring.6. Remove the front crankcase guard group. 7. Remove tube assembly (2) from the top of rear trunnion support (3). 8. Remove 15 bolts (4) and the washers from rear trunnion support cover (5). Do not remove the bottom bolt. 9. Loosen bottom bolt (4), and allow the rear trunnion support cover (5) to rotate down.10. Using two people, support rear trunnion support cover (5). Remove bottom bolt (4) and the washer to remove the rear trunnion support cover. The weight of the cover is 34 kg (75 lb). 11. Remove thrust bearing (6) from rear trunnion support (3). 12. Remove 12 bolts (7) and the washers along with thrust plate (8) from rear trunnion support (3). 13. Remove thrust bearing (9) from rear trunnion support (3). 14. Remove four outside bolts (10) on each side of rear trunnion support (3). Fasten lifting slings through each side of rear trunnion support (3). Remove four remaining bolts (10) on each side of rear trunnion support (3). 15. Loosen, but do not remove two bolts (11) on each side of front trunnion support (2). These four bolts in the front trunnion are used this way to keep the front trunnion support and rear axle in position while the rear trunnion support is being removed. 16. Install two 3/4-10 NC forged eyebolts (12) in rear trunnion support (3). Fasten a lifting sling and Tooling (B) to eyebolts (12) as shown. Place a 20 Ton floor jack in position under the rear axle housing to hold it in position while the rear support trunnion is being removed.17. Use Tooling (A) and (C) to lift the machine until the dowels in the rear support are free of the rear main frame.18. Use Tooling (B) to pull the support from the axle housing. 19. Lower rear trunnion support (3) on to a floor jack. Remove Tooling (B) and the lifting slings. Disconnect the remaining lifting slings from the rear support. Remove rear support trunnion (3) from under the machine. The weight of rear trunnion support is 242 kg (532 lb).Install Rear Trunnion Support
1. Place rear trunnion support (3) in position under the machine with a floor jack.2. Fasten lifting slings to each side of the rear trunnion support. Fasten lifting slings to a hoist or suitable lifting device.3. Check the condition of the O-ring seal in the rear trunnion. If the seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement. Install the O-ring seal in the rear trunnion support.4.
