Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the center drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Center) - Remove and Install".

Remove clevis pin (1). Disconnect yoke assembly (2) from the parking brake actuator lever (3) .
Remove bolt (4) and parking brake actuator lever (3) .

Remove eight bolts (5) and brake drum (6) .

Remove bolt (8), yoke retainer (9), O-ring seal (7) and yoke (10) .

Remove brake return springs (12), brace (11), brake retainer spring (14), brake adjuster (15) and brake shoes (13) .

Remove four bolts (16) and plate assembly (17) .
Remove the brake camshaft.

Remove two nuts (18), the washers, and brake actuator mounting bracket (19) .Installation Procedure
Note: Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install brake actuator mounting bracket (19), the washers, and two nuts (18) .
Install the brake camshaft.

Install plate assembly (17) and four bolts (16). The torque for bolts (16) is 240 40 N m (180 30 lb ft).

Install brake shoes (13), brake adjuster (15), brake retainer spring (14), brace (11) and brake return springs (12) .

Install O-ring seal (7), yoke (10), yoke retainer (9) and bolt (8). The torque for bolt (8) is 170 15 N m (125 11 lb ft).

Install brake drum (6) and eight bolts (5) .

Install parking brake actuator lever (3) and bolt (4). The torque for bolt (4) is 47 9 N m (35 7 lb ft).
Connect yoke assembly (2) to the parking brake actuator lever (3). Install clevis pin (1) .
To adjust the parking brake, rotate the brake adjuster until the brake drum cannot be rotated by hand. Then, back off the brake adjuster by six clicks.End By: Install the center drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Center) - Remove and Install".
