Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the oil from the fixed axle. The capacity of the fixed axle is 65 L (17.2 US gal).

Disconnect grease tube (1) from the fixed axle.
Disconnect two hose assemblies (2) from the fixed axle.

Disconnect grease tube (3) from the fixed axle.
Support front drive shaft (5). Remove four bolts (6) and two straps (7) from yoke (4). Slide yoke (4) away from front drive shaft (5) .

Fasten a suitable lifting sling to each side of the fixed axle, as shown. Fasten a hoist to both lifting slings.

Remove two bolts (8) and cover (9) from each side of the fixed axle.

Remove four bolts (10) and the washers. Lower the fixed axle from the machine. The weight of the fixed axle is 1540 kg (3400 lb).Installation Procedure
Note: Make sure that all mounting surfaces are clean prior to installation.

Fasten a suitable lifting sling to each side of the fixed axle, as shown. Fasten a hoist to both lifting slings. Raise the fixed axle into position. The weight of the fixed axle is 1540 kg (3400 lb).

Install the washers and four bolts (10) that hold the fixed axle to the front loader frame. The torque for bolts (10) is 1800 200 N m (1350 150 lb ft).

Install cover (9) and two bolts (8) on each side of the fixed axle.

Support front drive shaft (5). Slide yoke (4) into position on front drive shaft (5). Install four bolts (6) and two straps (7) on yoke (4). The torque for bolts (6) is 170 15 N m (125 11 lb ft).
Connect grease tube (3) to the fixed axle.

Connect two hose assembly (2) to the fixed axle.
Connect grease tube (1) to the fixed axle.
Fill the fixed axle. The capacity of the fixed axle is 65 L (17.2 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7035 for the correct procedure., End By:
Install the front tires and rims. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Front) - Remove and Install".
Purge the air from the braking system. Refer to Testing and AdjustingRENR2112"966G Wheel Loader and 972G Wheel Loader Braking System" for the correct procedure.
