At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuits (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), the travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the breather cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed. Remove the filler plug only when the engine is stopped and the filler plug is cool enough to touch.
1. Remove bolts (1) and the washers; then remove cover (2) from the stabilizer group. 2. Attach lifting slings (3) and a hoist to the stabilizer group.

3. Release the pressure from the hydraulic system as follows:a. Fully retract the stick cylinder rod.b. Adjust the position of the bucket so that it will be flat on the ground when the boom is lowered.c. Lower the boom until the bucket is flat on the ground.d. Stop engine.e. Turn the engine start switch key to the "On" position, but do not start the engine.f. Move the control levers for the fore boom, bucket, stick, and swing through their full travel strokes. This will release any pressure that might be present in the pilot system.g. Slowly move the travel pilot control pedal to "Forward" and "Reverse" travel positions. This will release any pressure in the travel circuit.h. Slowly loosen and remove the pressure cap on the hydraulic oil tank to release the pressurej. Reinstall and tighten the pressure cap on the hydraulic oil tank.k. The pressure in the hydraulic system has now been released. Implement/travel lines and components can now be removed.
View From Under Stabilizer Group 4. Disconnect three hoses (4) from the fittings on the machine frame. Disconnect electrical connector (5).
Frame With Stabilizer Group Removed The lifting slings have been removed for better photo illustration.5. Remove four bolts (7) and the washers that secure pins (6) to frame (8). Remove four pins (6) from frame (8) and stabilizer group (9). Carefully lift stabilizer group (9) away from frame (8). The weight of the stabilizer group is 900 kg (1985 lb).

Install the stabilizer group in the reverse order of the removal. During installation, apply 1P0808 Multi-Purpose Grease on pins (6) before installing them in frame (8) and stabilizer group (9).7. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.8. Star the machine, and check the operation of the stabilizer group. Cycle the stabilizer group several times to remove air from the stabilizer cylinders.
