Remove the flywheel housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install".

Remove nuts (1). Remove the washers and bolts (2) that hold crankshaft rear seal carrier (3) to the cylinder block.
Use Tooling (A) to carefully pry crankshaft rear seal carrier (3) from the crankshaft.
Remove the gasket between the cylinder block and crankshaft rear seal carrier (3) .Installation Procedure

Place a new gasket over dowels (4) .

Place crankshaft rear seal carrier (3) on the crankshaft.
Install nuts (1). Install the washers and bolts (2) .End By: Install the flywheel housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install".
