Assembly Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Install bypass valve cover (15), bolts (14), and the O-ring seals.

Install cover (13), bolts (12), and the O-ring seal.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install bypass valve (9), spring (10), cover (11), bolts (12), and the O-ring seals. Note: Bypass valve (9) must move freely in the bore.

Install housing support (7), bolts (8), and the O-ring seal. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft).

Install filter housing (6), adapter (5), bolts (4), and the O-ring seal. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft).
Lubricate the O-ring seals with the fluid that is being sealed.

Install engine oil filter elements (3).

Install cover (2), bolts (1), and the O-ring seals. If necessary, install the dowel into cover (2).
Lubricate the O-ring seals with the fluid that is being sealed. End By:
Install engine oil filter housing.
