Procedure To Install Fiberglide Bearings
1. Enlarge the bores in the kingpin, primary and secondary bolsters from 42.057 mm (1.6558 in) to 42.095 mm (1.6573 in).2. Thoroughly clean the bores and the area around them.3. Wipe the area, bores and bearing outside diameters with 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer or 8T9011 Solvent. Be sure the parts are wiped clean and that they are dry.4. Apply 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer in each bearing bore and allow to dry.5. Apply 7M7456 Bearing Mount in each bore and on the outside diameter of each new bearing.6. Install four bearings (4) in the primary bolster, two bearings (3) in the secondary bolster and two bearings (3) in the kingpin with the splits in the bearings in a horizontal plane (3 or 9 o'clock position).7. Put clean oil on pivot pins (5) and install them into both bearings to align them. The oil will prevent any excessive bearing mount compound from locking the pin to the bearing.8. Allow the units to dry for approximately 60 minutes. If the temperature is less than 10°C (50°F), allow more drying time. If the temperature is less than 0°C (32°F), use moderate heat to dry the components.9. Complete the assembly as shown in the illustration.
