Moving the machine before all personnel are clear of the machine could cause personal injury. Sound the horn for several seconds before moving the machine.
Check with the proper officials in order to obtain the required licenses.Check all local traffic regulations. Obey all local traffic regulations.Investigate the travel route for overpass clearances. There must be adequate clearance. Additional personnel may be required at critical intersections in order to road the machine.Remove any debris from the machine in order to avoid spillage on public roads.
Perform a “Walk-Around Inspection”. Measure the fluid levels in the various compartments.
Adjust the screed extensions to the most inward position. Make sure that the screed will fit the terrain.
Adjust the headlights of the machine in order to illuminate the road properly in the direction of the travel.
Turn off any work lights and flood lights.
Adjust the position of the seats. Move the operator seat to the INSIDE position. Perform this step for both operator seats.
Move the control panel to the LEFT position. Operate the machine from the LEFT operator station.
Raise the screed.
Center the tow points.
Move the tow point cylinders to the full UP position.
Raise the hopper wings.
Move the Travel/Pave/Maneuver speed control to the travel position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls" for more information.
In order to prevent personal injury from accidental screed movement, lock the screed in the RAISED position by using the travel lock lever in order to extend the lock pins, after the screed is fully raised.
Extend the lock pins for the screed. Lower the screed on the lock pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Screed Travel Lock" for more information on installing the screed travel lock pins.
Raised hopper wings can unexpectedly swing down and cause a crushing hazard which could result in serious injury or death. Always engage the hopper travel locks in order to secure the hopper in the raised position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hopper Travel Lock" for directions on engaging the hopper travel lock.
Move the hopper travel lock pins to the LOCKED position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hopper Travel Lock" for more information on installing the hopper travel lock.
Install the required flags, required signals, or required lights.
Start the engine. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Starting" for the proper starting procedure.
Move the machine in travel mode.
