start by: a) remove counterweights *b) remove boom **These operations are in the PIPELAYER PORTION DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY section.
The adjuster cylinder for the track is under high hydraulic pressure. Do not visually inspect the relief valve to see if grease is being released. Check the adjuster cylinder to see that it moves to the rear into the front pilot for the recoil springs. Use this warning any time that the track is loosened or tightened.
Keep away from the areas of the wood blocks when the machine is moved forward and up on them.
1. Start the machine. Move the machine forward and up on wood blocks as shown. Put tooling (A) and (B) in position under the machine as shown. Lift the machine approximately 10 in. (25.4 cm) off of the floor. 2. Put the forks of a lift truck under guard (1). Remove bolts (3). Remove bolts, spacers and nuts (2). Remove the guard. Weight of the guard is 155 lb. (70.3 kg).3. Remove the guard from the inside of the track roller frame. Weight of the inside guard is 155 lb. (70.3 kg). 4. When the front or rear track roller is removed, install tool (C) as shown and move the track away from the roller until there is enough clearance for removal of the roller. 5. Put the forks of a lift truck under roller (4) and remove the four bolts that hold the roller
