Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
After a failure in the brake circuit, clean the screens for the rear brake oil coolers. The oil cooler screens are located on the right side of the engine.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

(4) Screen assembly
Remove the drain plugs from two oil coolers (3) and drain the oil into a suitable container.
Clean the drain plugs and install the drain plugs.
Disconnect hose assembly (1) from elbow (2).
Remove screen assembly (4) from elbow (2).
Wash screen assembly (4) in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
Install screen assembly (4) in elbow (2).
Replace the O-ring seal in hose assembly (1). Connect hose assembly (1) to elbow (2).
Repeat Steps 3 through 7 for the remaining screen assembly.
Start the engine and run the engine at low idle. Check for leaks.

(5) Sight gauge
Check the oil level of the hoist, torque converter and brake tank. Maintain the oil level to the FULL mark in sight gauge (5).
Stop the engine. If necessary, add oil.
