Location of low vpm potentiometer under console.To install the new 1G6855 Locknut, drill the access hole for the low vpm potentiometer in the console to 15.88 mm (.625 in). When drilling the hole do not damage the potentiometer behind the panel. The existing hole is too small to allow the potentiometer to be locked in place with a socket.
Install the sleeve, which is part of the 1G6855 Locknut and tighten. Do not tighten the locknut on the sleeve. This will be done when the minimum vpm frequency is set.
Place the drum on rubber tires or non-compacted soil to verify the minimum vpm frequency in high amplitude. The reading for the minimum vpm frequency should be 1400 50 vpm. If the minimum vpm setting is not correct, adjust the potentiometer by turning the adjustment screw clockwise to increase the vpm reading or counterclockwise to decrease the vpm reading.
Once the minimum vpm frequency has been set at 1400 50 vpm, tighten the locknut on the low vpm potentiometer.
