Remove the fuel filter housing.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the oil and remove the oil filters from the oil filter housing. For instructions, see the Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Remove three bolts (1) that attach adapter (2) to the oil inlet and the outlet of the oil filter housing.

Install Tool (A) onto oil filter housing (3). Attach suitable chains and a lifting device to Tool (A). The oil filter housing weighs approximately 130 kg (287 lb).

Remove eight bolts (4) that attach oil filter housing (3) to support (5).
Remove oil filter housing (3) from the engine.
Remove two seals from the joint between adapter (2) and oil filter housing (3). Discard the seals.
